Four Styles of Leadership

This professional development series is facilitated in 4 sessions.  Each session addresses a different leadership style;

SYMBOLIC LEADERSHIP

STRUCTURAL LEADERSHIP

POLITICAL LEADERSHIP

HUMAN RESOURCES LEADERSHIP

The sessions are not offered in any particular order.  The next session will take place at Erie 1 BOCES, Harlem Road in West Seneca on Friday November 3, 2006.  The topic will be Structural Leadership.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Welcome

Welcome to the NYSCOSS Professional Development Program Blog for Western New York.  Our hope is that before and after participation in the Superintendent’s Professional Development Program you will have the opportunity to network, share information, opinions and become a support network for each other.

Our jobs are extremely demanding and oftentimes we may feel isolated or that “we are the only one” experiencing a particular problem.  This is far from the truth.  There are few issues that come up that some superintendent somewhere hasn’t experienced.  NYSCOSS offers a support network and list serve that will poll superintendents on any particular topic for you. As a member of the council, all you need to do is contact the council.

This blog has the potential for a regional approach to networking.  It is well understood the demographics change leadership.  Perhaps, administrators in the same geographic region have similar issues/concerns and will have valuable information to share.
